The increasingly polarised worlds we live in, the difficulty we have in listening to each other, and many times the downright dismissal and denial of each other’s humanity is the modern crisis.

Pune Kabir Festival is an endeavour anchored in the wisdom shared by Kabir and other saints. It is an attempt to bring the works of saints to the centre of our modern lives.

Through participation, embodied presence and learning, the festival aims to bring us together in listening and celebrating words and wisdom that have lived for centuries.

By blurring the lines between a performer and audience, we envision the creation of a truly collective effort to create a space for dialogue in our city.

Samaj Manch is a space where people come together to explore the theme of the Pune Kabir Festival in their own unique artistic styles. School students, Institutions, and various organisations participate, each interpreting the theme through music, dance, and creativity.

Nanhe Kabir

In every Samaj Manch, PKF offers an opportunity for children to present their interpretation of the theme of the festival. This is a rare opportunity that enables children to engage with saint poetry.

The stage is a powerful space to share bold ideas, interpretations, and questions that bother the next generation.

What is the role of a volunteer?

There are various areas in which volunteers can support. Here is a list of tasks in which you can choose.

  1. Event Logistics
  2. Registration Desk Duty

  7. Artist Management
How much time does a volunteer need to dedicate?

If your task is something that can be done remotely, for example, editing videos, then your work will be focussed on deliverables. If you choose a task that needs your active presence, then it will be completely dependent on the requirements. You can consider that the full two festival days will have to be dedicated to volunteering.

How can I support the festival?

Please choose to donate generously to the crowd funding campaign. You can also contribute in-kind by hosting artists at home, sharing your car and driver or organising meals for volunteers/artists etc.

How can I host an outreach event?

Please reach out to the Baithak team and organise a concert or workshop as an outreach initiative in your school/college/office/society.
